I guess it depends on how you use these and your hair texture. For mine (long, thick), it just doesn't do the trick as it's a very soft, flexible band. I couldn't use these for a ponytail for instance, but if I braid my hair, I can use it to hold the end together. However if you have shorter or hair that doesn't hang as heavily, you might be able to use these reliably through a workout. Cute colors.
