Emily Aygun | SheClimbs | Personal Trainer | Spin Instructor
While attending SJSU for Mathematics, Emily Aygun became incredibly interested in the anatomy and physiology of Acrobatics. After receiving her Personal Training Certification through NASM, followed by her Corrective and Orthopedic Exercise Certification, Emily also became passionate about rock climbing. She soon discovered that there was a void in the market for a female climbing organization, and decided to start her own. Today, SheClimbs fosters the growth and knowledge of climbing for women in a safe environment, holding weekly social and informative sessions teaching women how to climb and also fostering lifelong friendships. Emily tells her clients to find what makes them happy and to not give up until they find it. And, when she works out, she does it because it’s fun; if it’s not fun, she just doesn’t do it.
Emily’s training program revolves around her interest in climbing. She trains for bouldering competitions and long arduous outdoor climbing trips. To stay fit, she combines HIIT cardio with intense rock climbing endurance sessions. Emily teaches a weekly class that focuses on conditioning the major climbing muscles using free weights and body weight, so she pulls a lot of the exercises taught in this class from her own climbing program. She also teaches spin and loves to use her bike as part of her training regimen. Outside of the fitness world, Emily enjoys backpacking and camping. One of her favorite spots on the world is Crater Lake in Oregon.
